Got a 7 book boxed set & a dvd boxed set of The Chronicles of Narnia up on ebay if anyone's interested.
Dvds are in brand new, perfect condition & the books are as well, aside from a little wear on a small section of the box (from storage).

Click on the pic to bid. Thanks. =)

Random fact: did you know that a CS Lewis book features in U2's video "Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me". The video shows Bono being run over by a car and when he falls to the side of the road a book falls out of his hand - 'The Screwtpae Letters'. After seeing this I got myself a copy - the first book by CS Lewis that I read. Interesting read.

There are almost no letters to Tolkien in 3 vols of CSL's Collected Letters and no explaination as far as I can see. Does anybody know why?

Hello fellow Lewis fans. I hope this isn't straying too far from the community's purpose, but I've just finished a "fan vid" using clips from the two recent Narnia movies and I thought maybe some people here would be interested in seeing it.

Title: Tunnels (to Narnia)
Song & Artist: "Tunnels (Neighborhood #1) by The Arcade Fire
Fandom: The Chronicles of Narnia (mostly LW&W with a little bit of Prince Caspian toward the end)
Summary: Gen. Focus on the Pevensies. Tumnus, Aslan and the White Witch make appearances as well. Overall, it's a sort of melancholy, wistful vid. I guess, for me, it's sort of about the way people and surroundings change, due to outside forces and the simple passing of time. What remains at the core--what holds us together, interpersonally and intrapersonally? Familiar modes of escapism? Nostalgia? Love? C.S. Lewis would probably have something to say about all this, I'm sure.
(This way if you'd like to watch...)

I am in seminary and I am taking a fantastic class on the theology of C.S. Lewis. I really enjoyed writing my final project which was essentially to write a children story in the vein of C.S. Lewis. So I wrote my own mini Chronicle of Narnia

Here is the link to part one I hope you enjoy reading it as much as i did writing it.

'large design that brings the world out of the good to ill' -- where is it from?

The context.

When I was little I remember being aware that each of the books of Narnia was an part-allegory of a Bible story. I have forgotten all but the most obvious of these.

Does anyone know what Prince Caspian, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Silver Chair, and The Horse and His Boy ae part-allegories of?

Are there some parallels between "The Discarded Image" and the Annales School? Is it at all possible? If my question is stupid, please tell me about it. But don't just keep silent

I wrote a poem for a class recently about Lewis (and Tolkien) and I thought maybe people here would be interested. I also wanted to ask if anyone's read this New Yorker article about Lewis? It's from a few years back but I still remember it. It had quite a sting. I was wondering what other people's thoughts on it were.

oh, and here's my dumb poemCollapse )
